My name is Anne Ariesen.
For more than thirty years I have travelled through South Africa.
First professionally, later independently.
Smaak & Slaap is my personal platform.
I focus on places with character: small-scale stays, wine estates, nature escapes, restaurants and experiences that feel considered rather than constructed.
Always with an eye for atmosphere, detail and a strong sense of place.
I work independently and select everything myself.
Most of the places I feature are visited personally.
Others come through long-standing contacts I trust.
What I do
I share a carefully selected collection of places across South Africa.
My audience consists mainly of Dutch and Belgian individual travellers who return to South Africa more often.
They are looking for new places to stay.
Places they wouldn’t come across on their own.
How I work
I am not a travel agency.
I don’t sell packages.
Where possible, I work directly with owners.
